Executive Chef
Award-winning and national BBQ competitor Jordan Poole ends his BBQ hiatus by bringing Ozark-styled BBQ to downtown Rogers. Following in his father’s footsteps, a Kansas City BBQ judge and competitor, smoking meats was the first thing he learned how to cook. After managing operations for corporate chains and small businesses, he decided it was time to return back to his roots and offer a new concept to this foodie community. That concept includes challenging the stereotypes of restaurant culture and bringing positivity to an industry that already brings many people together. Your support adds fulfillment to our lives and we appreciate you more than you can imagine.
Impact Investors
Vincent and Carla Tate were introduced to Jordan Poole and his vision for OZ Smokehouse in August 2022. Leaving such an impression, Vincent and Carla provided the financial investment and support to make Jordan’s dream a reality.
Main Dining Room
OZ’s main dining area theme is the historic timber industry of the Ozarks. Vincent’s dad, Paul, dropped out of school in the 3rd grade to work in the logging industry, as did all of Paul’s brothers who helped support the family of sixteen! Some of the Tate brothers worked in the timber industry their entire lives.
From the late 1800s until the mid-1900s, timber was big business in the Ozark mountains. There was a demand for the ancient Oaks, Cedars, Hickory, and Walnut for settler’s homes; rail ties for the growing railroad industry; timbers used to prop up the roofs of coal mines; wagon bows used to hold up the covering on “covered wagons”; and staves to make barrels which were used for storing and shipping alcohol and other products. The Ozarks were rich with virgin forests to meet this demand.
OZ Smokehouse pays homage to the men and women that worked in the historic timber industry of the Ozarks through its décor and having each woodwork made of local Walnut.

Northwest Arkansas can be described as one word- community. The focus on local growth and the vibrant food scene is what we wanted to support and add to the ecosystem with our Ozark branded BBQ that gives quality options for the entire community. Fine-smoked meats with a gluten-free approach that doesn’t neglect our vegetarian community. Whether it’s pairing the smoked meats with our house-made cocktails or a glass from a local brewery, we’re proud to share our passionate brand of BBQ with this growing community.
